I went ridin’ the other day
Along the Chisholm trail.
Saw a doggie runnin’ stray
and caught him by the tail.

Remember the winter of ‘42,
The snow was nine feet high.
Rocky Horse got me through,
So mommy wouldn’t cry.

Had to cross the Rio Grande,
The water was 12 feet deep.

Rustlers stole all the herd,
Drove them to Mexico,
Rocky and I brought them back,
In an hour or so.
